Weight savings:
-Rear seatback removed ~14lbs
-Spare tire, jack and tools removed ~40lbs
-Rear seatbelt delete ~3-4lbs
-Stainless Steel cat-back ~16lbs
-Odyssey PC-680MJ lightweight battery : 27lbs.. my old Diehard battery weighed 43lbs!
-968CS manual aero mirrors ~3-4lbs
-Rubber liner under carpet ~3lbs

I estimate right now the car weighs in at about ~2800lbs but havent found a weigh station to verify. factory weight was about ~2800 and figure whatever i took out was cancelled by all the extras in the car. Thinking about switching to a Corbeau race seat, fiberglass euro bumpers and considering removal of the sound deadening to drop about 65-75lbs from where i am now. I would like to achieve the same weight this car came from the factory with, even with all the extras..and of course still keeping it a comfortable daily driver.

I have more stuff than i can remember done to this thing, i probably forgot a few items.

Waiting to put on..
-968 door handles
-Fidanza lightweight flywheel
-FOHA front lip
-KLA tow block

Summer '07 project...
-Sach's clutch and a lightweight pressure plate.

Thinking about..
-JME cam
-MAF sensor
-Custom DME chip
Could this possibily be the way to 20hp over stock??

In the next few months...
-Toyo RA-1's...225/50/16 all around for the C2's.
-968 M030 19mm adjustable rear swaybar

Future Suspension plans...
-Replace and reindex torsion bars. 30mm hollow torsion bars for the rear
-375 or 400lb springs for the front
-Lower car another inch or so all around
-Corner balance

In the future...
-LSD equipped tranny
-Repaint in guards red

I am a 2nd class engineer at the NY Merchant Marine Academy.

Purchased in November of '04 after selling my '87 924S. This car runs double duty as my daily driver and autocross car.

Ive set the car up to be as competitive as possible at auto-x while still remaining reasonably comfortable to still daily drive it.

The car has been a great learning experience for me. Both learning car control while auto-xing aswell as learning to work on cars myself. I have done all the maitnence on it myself, in the driveway none the less! I have done jobs such as the timing belt, changing waterpump, removed cylinder head (blown headgasket), installed all the suspension components, changed the exhaust aswell as a few other things.

The next and last big job to be done is changing the clutch.
